It is being said that civilians continue to be victims of ethnically oriented attacks in East Welega Zone of West Oromia. However,the federal and regional governments chose to remain silent. Residents told our sources that hundreds of thousands of people were killed and hundreds of thousands were displaced by the attacks that have escalated over the past three days, especially in Gida Ayana and Kiramu districts in the eastern Welega zone. Although the areas of western Oromia, where the group that calls itself the Oromo Liberation Army operates widely, remain calm, killings and displacements have increased in the past few days in two districts in eastern Wolega. Among the 18 districts in East Wolega, Gida Ayana and Kiramu districts have experienced heavy clashes in the last three days.
